It’s finally here, the General Election that many of us have been waiting for! We’ve endured 5 years that have seen 3 different Prime Ministers, scandals, the erosion of trust in politics and in important national institutions, and a never-ending sense of chaos and incompetence.

Britain and Derbyshire Dales deserve better! I hear residents saying that Britain just isn’t working right now. How is it acceptable in 2024 to have crumbling schools and roads, an NHS on its knees, raw sewage in our rivers, a flat-lining economy and mortgage payments soaring? It doesn’t have to be this way! Better is always possible. As a Liberal Democrat, I believe in the fantastic potential of our country and its people. This may not feel like a time for optimism, but we can have real hope for the future. This General Election is your opportunity to vote for a better future and a fair deal for Derbyshire Dales. My party alone understands the specific need to have good, well regulated public services and utilities in a rural area like ours. That’s why I’m standing as your Liberal Democrat candidate. A real, local champion rather than a ‘yes man’ who votes in their party’s interest rather than yours. It’s time we had an MP who truly represents this area and doesn’t take us all for granted.
