Statement to voters
I'm Victoria Finnegan, your local Green candidate for West Sussex County Council in the Bramber Castle division area.
Full statement
It's been wonderful getting things done for our community over the past years and meeting so many of you as part of my work for the local area. Thank you for your continued support.
I wanted to write personally because you face an important choice this May. The truth is, the old parties you've perhaps always voted for can't win round here this time.I’m your local District councillor and I have the skills to do the job:
I was elected as Steyning & Ashurst's local Horsham District councillor in 2023 with the highest vote share. I love this place and the people, but I get fed up when our whole area from Ashurst through Steyning, Bramber, Upper Beeding, Small Dole to Woodmancote is ignored and neglected.
I want to make a real difference to your lives. I'm hard working, organised and I know how to get things done. As your West Sussex County councillor, I'll get even more done for our area.
I am always free to speak up for local residents:
Unlike other parties, the Green Party doesn't tell councillors how to vote. I can always put you ahead of party politics and stand up for what's right for Steyning, Ashurst, Bramber, Upper Beeding, Small Dole and Woodmancote.
As your HDC councillor, I've worked hard for safer roads, represented your concerns to Horsham District Council, sorted out overgrown footpaths and challenged developers to get a better deal for residents and the local environment. I've reported potholes and got them fixed. I've helped support securing Bramber Brooks as a local nature reserve.I can win here in Bramber Castle division:
At the last local elections, the Greens won first place across the Steyning and Bramber areas. The Conservatives, Lib Dems and Labour don’t have enough support to win here, so it’ll be a clear, two-horse race between the Greens and Reform this time.
