Statement to voters

We’re proud to call Birmingham home.

Full statement

Ladywood is one of the most vibrant and diverse communities in our city, but we also know that too many residents feel unheard, especially when it comes to regeneration, housing, and the everyday issues that affect our streets.

After the Conservatives took £1bn from our city, we know things have been tough. But with a Labour government backing councils, we’ve secured over £650m in new funding to protect and rebuild our vital services.

We’ll always put Brummies and Ladywood first - helping residents with the cost of living and backing our young people.

Labour are introducing breakfast clubs, expanding free school meals and taking 60,000 children in Birmingham out of poverty. And your Labour council is putting £1m into youth services.

We’ve been out over the past year – not just at election time – listening to residents, standing up for our community, and pushing for fair solutions shaped with local people.

Based on these conversations, we’ve developed some key priorities:

We’ll push for fair, transparent regeneration that protects Ladywood’s identity

We'll tackle poorly managed HMOs and Secure Exempt Accommodation with action against rogue landlords

We'll Improve the bin service and clean up our streets – tackling fly‑tipping with increased enforcement

And we’ll invest in our community – reopening the neighbourhood office, supporting local businesses, improving safety for women and girls, and making sure growth works for local people.

Labour will bring unity to our city and challenge division wherever it appears. There are others in this election trying to divide us, pit neighbours against each other and talk Birmingham down.

We know Birmingham is strongest when we stand together.

We care deeply about Ladywood, and we’re determined to work with residents, listen, and represent you.

We’d be honoured to have your support.
