Statement to voters

I have lived in Walker since 1987, nearly 40 years now.

Full statement

My origins are in the North Wales Coal Field and I have always felt at home in Walker.

From 1973 I lived in England for work and study and I learned that all of us face the same challenges.

In 1983 I moved to Newcastle, to set up a specialist multidisciplinary Communication Aid Service for the North of England.

Working with adults, children and their families living with severe communication difficulties taught me a lot. I learned much more about how "the system" really works, or doesn't, when I needed disability services myself and for family members in Newcastle.

While working in Newcastle, I gained valuable experience representing the interests of others.

Some highlights:

  • Elected by the Northern Region TUC to represent Women's Interests on the North East Regional Assembly

  • Regional President of MSF (now Unite Trade Union)

  • Initiated and led campaigns at TUC and Labour Party Conferences against the closure of Swan Hunter Shipyard.

As a past long-standing member of Newcastle Joint Advisory Group on Physical and Sensory Disability, I will see that adults and children with disabilities and the elderly have access to quality services enabling participation in education, public life and decision making, ensuring privacy, dignity and respect for personal autonomy.

The job of Councillors is not just to kick up a fuss about pot holes, dog shit on pavements, fly tipping and HMOs springing up everywhere. They are very important because they can make our lives misery and they are the bread and butter of being a Councillor.

But there is so much more that goes under the RADAR.

You also need to know how your Councillors will vote on "big picture" issues that affect women, families and children living in Walker. For example:

Councils have a legal duty under the Equality Act 2010 to protect and uphold the rights of women as a distinct, legally recognised sex.

  • For services involving dignity, privacy, or safeguarding - such as in care homes, shelters, or supported housing - this is especially important.

  • Schools have a duty to protect the privacy, dignity, and safety of all pupils, especially girls. This includes access to single-sex toilets, changing rooms, sports, and pastoral support.

Schools have legal duties under The School Premises (England) Regulations 2012 to provide suitable toilets, washing and changing facilities for children. The safest, most hygienic sanitary facilities are only possible in single-sex toilet blocks - mixed-sex toilet blocks with fully enclosed unisex cubicles are not safe and are not hygienic.

Councils also have legal duties under The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 to provide single-sex toilets, showers and changing rooms for employees.

The Party of Women stands for truth and common sense in local government - we reject dangerous, unscientific nonsense.

  • We refuse to allow men in female-only spaces, no matter how they identify - your safety, privacy and dignity matter

  • We will not be forced by anyone to pretend that men can become women

  • We will stop schools indoctrinating children into this harmful ideology

  • We oppose policies that take female language from women and give it to men

  • We do not call women "birthing persons," "cervix-havers,"or"menstruators"

  • We want every daughter, sister, mother, wife and girlfriend to have safe access to female-only spaces, sports, care, toilets and changing rooms

  • We believe everyone should be able to speak freely about their concerns - at work, with care services, in schools, and in all public and private life

  • We demand Councils stop breaking the law NOW. TheSupreme Court ruled on 16 April 2025 that they MUST use common sense, biological definitions of "man" and "woman", "boy" and"girl". Vote Party of Women for truth and reality.

We are a party that dares to be honest when others lack courage to say

  • No Woman has a Penis
  • No Man has a Vagina
  • There's No Such Thing as Non-binary
  • Transitioning Children is Profound Abuse

A vote for Party Of Women is

  • a vote for women's sex-based rights
  • a vote for protection of children
  • a vote for freedom of speech to even talk about these things
  • a vote for common sense
  • a vote to kick out all this dangerous nonsense
  • a vote to make the Council put services to residents as its top priority.
