I trained as a teacher in further education, and I went on to teach adults at evening classes. I was a school governor at both primary and secondary schools, and I ran the office of a Nottinghamshire MP for over 20 years.

I care greatly for the local area and protecting our environment. I have been an active campaigner to keep the local area the best it can be. I worked to successfully prevent fracking in Bassetlaw, and I was involved in setting up a Speedwatch group in a neighbouring village.

My pledges to you:

• I will be an active and visible local councillor who listens, acts and keeps you informed.
• I will work hard to protect our local environment and keep it clean and tidy.
• I will work with residents and the police to tackle speeding in our villages.
• I will campaign for improved bus services in our villages.
