Statement to voters
As a genuine people person who has spent their adult life working and volunteering in roles supporting and advocating for other people, I feel that I would bring to the role that empathy and desire to empower others as well as a determination to make improvements for the local community.
Full statement
Since moving to Canterbury in 2008 I have been overwhelmed by the warmth of its residents and I would like to repay that warmth and generosity by working hard to ensure that residents voices are heard.
If lucky enough to be selected to be the labour candidate for canterbury south I will relish the opportunity to get out and connect with as many people in the community as I can.
I will fight passionately alongside my labour colleagues for a fairer, stronger and more prosperous and progressive Canterbury
