Along with my wife and three young daughters, we moved to Brackley for work reasons in 1996 and have been happily here ever since.

We were initially attracted to the Town and to the wider South Northants area for that difficult-to-define characteristic of its “feel” - it instinctively felt like it would be a nice place to live and bring up a family. We weren’t wrong.

Having retired from full time work in late 2020, and wanting to “give something back” to the Community, I quickly signed up to be a volunteer driver with BAVCS, part of SNVB. This has been a really rewarding activity, helping transport those who need it to medical appointments both locally and to centres in Banbury, Oxford and Northampton. It’s an extraordinary service and one of which I’m proud to play a small part.

I've been a Town Councillor for over a year now and have been delighted to play my part in a number of local initiatives including registering the closed Southfield School as an Asset of Community Value (meaning WNC can't simply dispose of the site) and pushing WNC into making positive changes to the terrible conditions on Manor Road around school pick-up and drop-off times.

I'd now like to extend this community focus to the wider West Northants area and try to hold WNC to account for the decisions it makes around finance, local services, biodiversity and the environment, housing, transport, and education. Green councillors are making a huge difference elsewhere in the country, and it's high time we had the opportunity to do so in West Northants.
