John is a past Chair of Hedge End Town Council and was first elected to the Borough Council last year, following the passing of long-standing councillor Jane Welsh. John has brought up his family in Hedge End and has lived in the area for over 25 years. John was previously a parent Governor at Freegrounds Infants School. Both John and his wife work in the health sector with the NHS, John as a senior manager and his wife as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner nurse. Locally, John has a keen interest in youth provision and employment opportunities for young people.
