Statement to voters

James is born and raised in Bury St Edmunds and has lived here for much of his life.

Full statement

He is a former CEO of a local agriculture company and used to be a university lecturer. Now he works in property while being one of the lead campaigners for the Liberal Democrats in Bury St. Edmunds.

As the partner of a nurse at West Suffolk Hospital, James understands the burden that is on our local NHS and wants to see greater support for primary care providers such as GPs, dentists and pharmacies with priority for lowering business rates as well as free parking for NHS staff at West Suffolk Hospital.

He wants to see our road quality problems tackled by being tough on our repair contractor, introducing traffic calming to stop our roads being damaged in the first place, and opening up public car parks for residents in order to reduce parking overcrowding on our roads in the town centre.

A member of the Bury St Edmunds business community for many years, James has been disappointed to see much of our local economy struggle and not getting the support they need. He will back our local businesses and strive to create a thriving job market for all, making sure that business outside of the town centre also receive the support they need.
