Full statement
He has worked in the facilities and security industry for more than 30 years.
Mr Roddy has been a lifelong fan of Warrington Wolves.
He joined Reform UK in March 2024 after becoming disillusioned with the direction the country was heading in, in particular ‘failing border security, rising cost of living, and declining public services both nationally and right here in Warrington’.
Mr Roddy is currently the deputy chair of the Warrington branch. He says he will fight the election based on the ‘lack of competency’ of the Labour-run council.
He said: “I was shocked to learn the council is £1.8 billion in debt.
“An official report heavily criticised the leadership and councillors, for signing off on investments without proper legal or financial due diligence – investments that had little or no benefit for our community.”
He believes Reform UK stand a strong chance of gaining its first seat on the council, especially as they were just 30 votes away from gaining a seat in the recent by-election in Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall.
