Statement to voters
Gareth was born in Pontypool and grew up on a council estate in Trevethin as the eldest of six children.

He attended West Monmouth Comprehensive School before studying IT at college and university.
Gareth began working at 16 in hospitality and later moved into retail while studying. After university, he worked across England and Wales as a Project Support Manager for Matalan before taking retail management roles in the North West and Bristol. Gareth later moved into the charity retail sector with the British Heart Foundation.
He married his wife in 2011, and they have two children. In 2024, Gareth and his family moved to Ebbw Vale. He works as a Campaign Manager for the Bristol & South Gloucestershire Conservatives, a role he has held for the past four years, supporting candidates and councillors in general and local elections.
