It is time to back ourselves as a nation and take control of our future with a Senedd free from Westminster influence. This is why I am standing for Gwlad—a Welsh centrist party made of passionate people dedicated to holding Cardiff Bay and Westminster to account. We are not career politicians.

Having served in 1 Royal Welsh with operational duty in Afghanistan, I know first-hand the struggle of leaving the forces and finding meaningful employment in an economy left to decline. Gwlad is committed to lifting our economy by empowering local businesses and keeping wealth within our communities.

I am from the Rhymney Valley. I deeply care for this area, and I want to be a voice for those affected by 'energy park' projects decimating our hillsides. Companies like Bute Energy are exploiting our countryside for profit while the Welsh Government stands complicit. We are being used as an energy colony, Gwlad supports renewables, but we oppose corporate schemes that exploit our land.

Our valleys have borne the brunt of industry and have the scars to prove it. Westminster owes us the safe removal of the coal tips clinging to our hillsides. The coal industry made Westminster rich, but our people received only decline. It is time to take matters into our own hands.

• ​I will stand against the industrialisation of our countryside for corporate greed.

• I will stand for the safe removal of coal tips and strict scrutiny of re-mining proposals.

• I will stand for our Welsh language and culture and encourage the teaching of our local Welsh history to create pride in our communities and environment.

• I will stand for increasing the support to people in our communities suffering with mental health issues. I understand the importance of community based mental health schemes - as someone who has suffered with mental health issues I have great empathy with those that are affected. I will encourage the use of group outdoor nature based therapy schemes.

• I will stand for our local businesses, entrepreneurs, and innovators.

• I will stand up against establishment politicians to ensure decisions benefit our communities from the bottom up and no one is left behind.
