Statement to voters
I have spent my entire life rooted in hard work, family, and community — the values that built Glenrothes, Kinglassie, and every town across Fife.
Full statement
As a third-generation member of a long-established local family business, I learned from an early age what really matters: responsibility, graft, and looking out for the people around you. Those are the values I will take into the council chamber.
For more than forty years, I worked full-time in the family business before moving on to my second career as a full-time golf caddie, meeting people from all backgrounds and hearing first-hand the concerns felt by ordinary Scots. I know what real life looks like outside the bubble of political parties and government departments — and I believe it is time that real people with real experience shaped the decisions made here in Fife.
My priorities for Glenrothes West & Kinglassie are clear, practical, and rooted in the concerns local people raise every day:
✔ Local homes for local people
We must stop the endless cycle of developments that don’t serve the needs of local residents. Housing should be affordable, properly planned, and available first to the people who already live and work here.
✔ Tackling anti-social behaviour and crime
Too many residents feel ignored when they report vandalism, disorder, or intimidation. I will push for visible enforcement, real consequences, and proper support for communities who feel abandoned.
✔ Protecting our children from harmful gender ideology
Parents are increasingly alarmed by the ideology being pushed in schools. I will stand firmly for safeguarding, transparency, and age-appropriate teaching rooted in biological reality — not political agendas.
✔ Championing local and small businesses
Small businesses are the backbone of this community. Having lived that life myself, I know the challenges they face. I will fight for a council that supports local enterprise instead of drowning it in bureaucracy and indifference.
I am standing for Reform UK because I believe Scotland needs a fresh start — and Fife needs councillors who put local people first, not party loyalty or fashionable ideology. I am not a career politician. I’m a family man, a working man, and someone who believes our area deserves better.
