Statement to voters
I am standing in this by election for offer a real alternative to the top down controlled parties who for too long continue to maintain the failing status quo.
Full statement
I run a business in South Lanarkshire and compared to other council regions, South Lanarkshire has a poor record of helping businesses in the area and continue to impose high rates charges increasing by huge margins. This is stifling business creation and development, adversely affecting job creation and career development.
Whilst Labour and the previous UK Conservative governement continue to dismantle our once great local industry in villages and town, the SNP's only response is to join in!
Its time we got local and started building opportunities for both young and old in Avondale and Stonehouse. Local health care, local education, local policing and local businesses championed, is the reposnibilty of the council, instead of steady decline and neglect in local services.
