I’m standing for Holyrood because I’ve had enough of watching career politicians fail the people of Scotland.

Fifteen years on the frontline of emergency medicine in Scotland has shown me exactly what is broken. With over half a million Scots on waiting lists, the establishment keeps promising fixes they never deliver. Sometimes the people closest to the problems are the only ones who can put them right.

Beyond the ward, I’ve worked in international development and hold a diploma in Mountain Medicine. Whether in a busy A&E or challenging environments abroad, I’ve learned to make tough decisions under pressure. During the pandemic, I was one of a handful of doctors who spoke out publicly about the long-term harm of lockdowns on education and healthcare. I believe the NHS must welcome honest debate, not shut it down.

As a small business owner, I also know the weight of rising costs and suffocating regulation. I want wasteful quangos stripped back and real tax cuts delivered – keeping your money in your pocket.

A fellow Celt who moved from Wales to make Scotland my home, I work in a neighbouring hospital and see our region’s challenges daily. No rehearsed lines. No career politician. Just a doctor ready to work for East Kilbride.
