I have expertise in housing, immigration and health rights advocacy through my job and believe that I can use this effectively to support the residents of Brixton North.
I am passionate about the need for decent social housing, which is truly accessible for people with all types of diabilities, and sustainable from an energy perspective. I really understand the need to get the Council and landlords to respond quickly to housing issues like black mould and repairs. Special Educational Needs support in Lambeth needs to improve, and I would fight for this. I want to see street litter elimated, and local environments improved for everyone - there are some great green spaces within Brixton North, but these can always be improved. I think GP health access needs to be addressed urgently, and improvements in mental health support should be a priority. I am passionate about reducing stigma and discrimmination in all it's forms. I have lived on 2 council estates in Lambeth over the last 18 years, with my partner, two boys (aged 15 and 16), a ginger cat and 3 goldfish. I love my (small!) garden, and watching a bit of Sci Fi with my boys. I've previously been involved in community gardening projects and I do community cooking at Oasis on a Saturday.My best quality is that I always do I what I say I am going to do...!
