Statement to voters
I am Shahana H S Choudhury, LLB (Hons), LPC and I am honoured to stand as the Conservative Party candidate and currently serve as the Deputy Chairman for Membership and Finance within the party.

With a professional background in law and actively working online with UW. I also act as an Involvement Representative (IR) with NELFT that is affiliated with the NHS, and I work as a Freelance Interpreter. I am a proud a resident of this area (Barking & Dagenham) for many years and I have contributed to local education as a school governor at Dorothy Barley Junior School and Jo Richardson Community School.
Being a mother pursuing a PhD and a proud mother to a daughter and a mother-in-law to a son-in-law who are also undertaking doctoral studies, I greatly value the significance of education. Having earned two academic degrees despite numerous challenges, I am committed to achieving my long-held aspiration of completing a PhD. This is a goal that I have cherished since my university days. I understand that education is very important and valuable in all aspects of life and it’s a capital for an individual too.
As a committed member of Barking and Dagenham, I am dedicated to making a positive impact in our community if elected councillor.

Serving as a Councillor has been a longstanding ambition of mine. This aspiration reflects my dedication to making a positive impact within the community and my firm belief in the importance of public service. I am eager to contribute meaningfully, drawing on my experiences and commitment to help shape the future of our area.
My qualifications include extensive legal expertise, medical insight gained through my NHS involvement, significant experience in interpreting, facilitating clear communication across language barriers.
Growing up in a Conservative constituency (Southend) I am confident that my dedication, professional abilities and commitment to public service will be of great benefit to the area. I am wholly committed to campaigning for constructive changes.
