David has lived in the Alton Rural Area for 33 years and takes a keen interest in the local countryside, footpaths and bridleways taking his dog for daily walks in the Meon Valley area.

He qualified as a mechanical engineer working in the midlands motor industry, from where he progressed into selling and exporting high value capital equipment
to the construction, cargo handling, shipping and ports industries. Spending time working and living in South East Asia.

On return to the UK he spent several years on secondment to the Dept of Trade and Industry. He has particular experience in company finance and business planning from being a commercial manager of a leading national franchise.

His views are very much that of applied Common Sense and a policy of what works in the real world. Hypocrisy in local and national politics should be routed out and stopped. His business experience gives him the skills to balance budgets with income and cut out unnecessary wasteful expenditure.
