I grew up in Airdrie and I have lived here most of my life. I am not a politician, I am a concerned father and I am a concerned tax payer.
We have a government which seems incapable of tackling the real issues that people are having to deal with on a daily basis.
We have a political system completely detached from our communities and a political class, most of whom have never actually worked a day in a real job.
They leave university and go straight into politics, exactly like Neil Gray the SNP MSP currently representing this constituency.
I have worked in engineering for 38 years and faultfinding and troubleshooting are a key part of my job responsibilities. I believe that not only are these transferrable skills, I believe they are very useful skills.
We need people who can solve problems, we need people who can get things done, get things built, people with real life practical skills and real life practical experience. People who can get the country moving.
I am organised, resourceful and I am hard working. And I will work hard for Airdrie.
I will work hard for all its connected villages, to create a better environment for community decision making, to create better opportunities for our children and to make it a better place for our small businesses to thrive.
