Statement to voters

I am standing in the local elections for Woolston because I care about this community and I want to make a real difference.

Full statement

I have spent my working career supporting people who need it most. I started as a Support Worker, working directly with vulnerable young people, and over the years I have worked my way up into management and now business development. I have seen the system from every level. Even now, despite moving into business development, I still pick up shifts because I genuinely enjoy helping people and staying connected to the frontline.

I have sat with young people in crisis, sometimes when they feel like they have no one else. I have seen how quickly things can go wrong when support is not there, and how powerful it is when someone simply listens and steps in to help. Those moments stay with you. They change how you see things.

I am not a career politician. I am someone who has had to deal with real situations, make difficult decisions, and take responsibility when it matters most.

I am standing because I want Woolston to have someone who genuinely cares and will stand up for it. Someone who listens, who shows up, and who does not walk away when things get difficult.

My priorities are simple and focused on what residents actually deal with every day. I want to improve council housing by pushing for a rapid repair plan and making sure standards are properly enforced. Too many people are waiting too long for basic issues to be fixed, and that is not acceptable.

I will push for better roads, pothole repairs and overall maintenance, including reviewing existing contracts to make sure work is properly completed and signed off. Residents should not be paying for work that is not done properly.

I want to improve bin collections, street cleaning and waste services so our area is kept clean and looked after. At the same time, we all have a role to play in taking pride in where we live.

Housing is also a major concern. I will work to address the impact of HMOs by managing density, improving parking issues and ensuring safety standards are upheld.

On homelessness, I believe we need a more practical and joined up approach. I will work with local charities and government to get people off the streets and into the support they need.

I also want to support local businesses and help rebuild community spaces and events, because a strong community is about more than services, it is about people feeling connected and proud of where they live.

I believe in being visible, approachable and accountable. If you elect me, you will see me in the community, you will be able to speak to me, and I will act on what you tell me.

This is personal to me. Woolston deserves better, and I am ready to step up and do my part.

If my story resonates with you, and you want someone who will be there, who will listen, and who will not give up on this community, I would really value your support.
