Alex is an experienced social housing professional, having worked for a diverse range of local authorities for over 25 years.

He has a particular interest in supporting council tenants to exercise their right to manage, a statutory right which is often not promoted enough by councils throughout England.
Alex is a single parent carer who believes the Council should be doing everything it can to support vulnerable adults and children, including their carers who often suffer in silence.
He is also a longstanding trade union activist with Unison, campaigning for better individual and collective rights in the workplace as well as representing Unison members in workplace disputes.
Alex strongly believes the needs of people can best be met by people whose own needs have been met, therefore it is essential that council services are properly funded.
