I now run a pioneering eco business and have spent many years campaigning to protect the character of our villages, so they can continue to thrive without losing what makes them special.
Our communities face growing pressures. Large-scale housing and industrial developments can overwhelm villages, while everyday issues like road maintenance and flooding are too often overlooked.
I have a strong track record of local action. I successfully used planning processes to help remove a slaughterhouse from a residential area in my village, and worked to prevent the demolition of a local pub, instead supporting efforts to secure it for community use.

I have spoken out to defend free parking in Harleston and regularly monitor the River Waveney—an important but polluted river that I hope future generations will be able to enjoy safely again.
