Statement to voters
I bring passion and experience as a Development Advocate with a track record of impact and commitment to rights-based and people-centred approaches.
Full statement
I have been a resident in Hillingdon Council for 20 years and have made Yiewsley my home for 10 years. In the wider Hillingdon, I served 10 years on the Independent Education Appeals Panel helping to ensure families are accorded fair processes and statutory compliance by the Local Authority in Education Service provision. I have also supported public and policy campaigns on Climate Change, No Third Runway and Stop HS2, for their environmental effects on Hillingdon communities.
I know Yiewsley and I see Yiewsley's potential as a thriving diverse community. I understand the local issues and have supported efforts on community integration for years. In the last year, since expressing my interest to serve as your Councillor, I have been engaging residents and businesses, listening to issues and taking notes of proposed solutions. I have reported local issues to relevant authorities, called incumbent Councillors to action and effectively influenced action.
A vote for me, MOSES Elizabeth Oluwakemi, is a vote to strengthen the work I have already begun - service to Yiewsley - and a vote to keep the ears, heart and hands of Conservative-led Hillingdon Council closer and closer to Yiewsley. TANJORE Sriram has actively worked together with me and a vote for him also will ensure Yiewsley has 2 Councillors with aligned goals and consequently, better results. Give us the official mandate to do the job.
If successfully elected as your Councillor for Yiewsley, I want to work with local stakeholders for a revitalised and sustainable Yiewsley, including:
Cleaner Yiewsley: Working with residents to co-own responsibility for making every street in Yiewsley clean, to ensure clean green spaces, and to report fly-tipping offences.
Healthier Yiewsley: Ensuring support for social, health and environmental services to residents and improved standards from housing providers, aligned with Council Strategies.
Safer Yiewsley: Engaging whole-of-Yiewsley and neighbourhood watch, aligned with Hilingdon Partnership’s Community Safety Strategy 2026-2029 to tackle and reduce current crime rate.
Prosperous Yiewsley: Supporting local businesses, giving visibility to micro home-based businesses and working with local job centres to support employment seekers in Yiewsley.
Delivering Together: Fostering inclusive participation of Yiewsley residents in Yiewsley Matters, leaving no-one behind and building meaningful public-private partnerships to accelerate sustainable development in Yiewsley.
