Statement to voters
I am a proud dad, husband, dog owner and green energy lawyer.
Full statement
For the last three years I have served Wetherby as a Town Councillor. I’ve helped protect the X98 & X99 bus services when threatened with closure, supported bus franchising, delivered weekend markets and new tree-planting schemes in Wetherby, helped Wetherby Foodbank and consistently voted against the Tory-led town council’s precept (tax) rises to protect residents’ pockets.
My professional career is rooted in decarbonisation and tackling climate change. I’m proudly from a working class background, and was brought up to value our NHS and care for underprivileged people - those suffering from inequality - in my community.
I firmly believe in public service and social justice. If I am privileged to become Wetherby’s Ward Councillor, those are the principles I will always follow.
