Statement to voters
We need honest and caring representatives, willing to listen to and help members of the community, support them where possible, and act as an effective communicator.
Full statement
The council has a number of functions which I would aim to assist. Naturally, I would regard environmental issues a priority.
My overall priority in Pilkington Park would be to protect the interests of the community, listening to people's issues without favour, to preserve the area and make it better place to live in. The issue of pollution of the Irwell and the state of local country parks is of concern. I would be keen to challenge the removal of vital government support to local authorities. The issues of health and education and other social issues would all gain my attention.
