Gill Chapman, one of our campaign coordinators, joined the Green Party last summer at the start of the huge increase in members across the country, including in Hounslow.

Now retired, she is standing for election in Cranford, having previously had a career as a university lecturer, followed by several years working in the charity sector. She says: “I have long supported the Green Party’s passion for the environment and concern for the very real threat of climate change, but I was inspired to join the party when they added a real concern about the inequality in our society to the mix. For too long we have allowed the wealthiest to continue to get richer still while others are struggling to make ends meet. Addressing this is fundamental to achieving the kind of compassionate and integrated society we all want.”
