Statement to voters

I’ve proudly called South Croydon home since 2012, having grown up near Glasgow before moving south to build my career in financial services.

Full statement

I’ve worked in banking and insurance, led major projects, and more recently in Westminster supporting an MP, helping residents with casework and contributing to national policy. Throughout my career, one principle has guided me: putting people first.

Coulsdon has enormous potential, but too many residents feel Croydon Council simply is not delivering. From potholes and fly-tipping to children’s services and community safety, local people deserve better. As your councillor, I will focus on practical action:

• Cleaner streets
• Safer neighbourhoods
• Reliable local services
• Opportunities for people of all ages to work, learn and thrive

Across the borough, people can see that Croydon Town Centre has been allowed to decline, with boarded-up shops, empty office blocks, closing businesses and the recent loss of the town centre cinema. If you are happy with that, then vote for anyone. But if you want real change, fresh energy and new life in our town centre, then it is time to vote Labour.

I am proud to support Rowenna Davis for Mayor of Croydon. Rowenna is a teacher, a mum, and someone who understands the pressures families face every day. She has a clear plan to rebuild trust in the Council, restore pride in our borough, fix the finances, support safer streets and bring jobs, investment and visitors back to Croydon. You can read more at: rowennadavis.co.uk/mymanifesto.

I also believe young people must have a real voice in shaping our future. I helped establish a youth democracy charity and served as its first Chair, because every generation deserves a stake in the decisions that affect them.
Together, with Rowenna Davis and a strong Labour team, we can restore confidence in our Council, revive our town centre, and once again put people first.

Promoted by Stuart King on behalf of Rowenna Davis and Ben Taylor on behalf of Steven Jack at Unit 2150, Level 3, The Management Suite, The Whitgift Centre, CR0 1LP
