Statement to voters

I’m standing to represent Orpington Ward because this is my home — it always has been.

Full statement

I was born here, I’ve lived here all my 48 years, and I’ve raised my three children here. Two of them are still in local education, so what happens in this community matters to me — it affects my family every single day.

I’ve spent most of my working life in Orpington too. I’ve managed retail businesses locally and still do — I don’t just shop on the high street, I work in it. Over the years, I’ve employed and worked alongside countless local residents, and I’m proud to have given many young people their first step into work.

I’m not a career politician — and I won’t pretend to be. What I do have is real-world experience, a deep understanding of the area, and a genuine connection to the people who live here. Like many of you, I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with the direction things are heading — both nationally and locally. Too often, it feels like ordinary people are ignored while common sense takes a back seat.

That’s why I’ve decided to stand. Not for a title, but to do something about it. I want to be a strong, local voice on Bromley Council — someone who understands Orpington, listens to its residents, and isn’t afraid to speak up for them.
