Statement to voters
Jacob is a relatively new Green party member but knows that it cares about the areas that he feels passionate about, including giving a voice to individuals who are often less visible in political parties, including younger voters.
Full statement
Having not gone straight to university he has experienced first hand the challenges younger people have getting full time work. When work is available it is often on contracts that don’t provide enough stability to help them take the next step in becoming independent, such as moving out of home.
Jacob is passionate about local concerns, being born and raised in Winchester, he has been reliant on public transport for many opportunities such as getting to college, work and just meeting friends, and is concerned that the risk of cuts to public transport routes will lead to isolation of rural communities and particularly of those who cannot drive. He also understands that we need to improve cycling provision to increase independence and reduce car dependency.
