A Plea for Restoration: From One Failing State to Another?

I didn’t come to the United Kingdom just for a change of scenery.

I came here for a future.
Having grown up in South Africa, I have seen first-hand what happens when a nation’s infrastructure crumbles, when the rule of law becomes a suggestion, and when public funds vanish into the pockets of the incompetent. I lived through that "Third World" transformation—the potholes that become craters, the utilities that fail, and the sense of unease that settles over a neighbourhood when the authorities lose control.
I moved my life across the globe because Britain represented the "First World" standard: order, safety, and accountability. But lately, I look around and feel a haunting sense of déjà-vu. I see a country in decline, and I refuse to stand by and watch the UK repeat the mistakes of the country I left behind.
Faith, Morality, and Our Foundations
As a practising Christian, my world-view is shaped by the belief that a strong society must be built on a firm foundation. British society was built upon Christianity, traditional morals, and clear values. These are the pillars that once made this nation a beacon of stability for the rest of the world.
I value and respect these heritage values deeply. If we stop upholding the moral fabric that binds us—honesty, personal responsibility, and respect for our neighbours—we lose the very essence of what makes this country home. We must return to a system that rewards hard work and protects the vulnerable, rather than one that merely manages decline.
My Pledges to You:

• End Council Waste: I’ve seen how "political stunts" drain a city dry. We will scrap vanity projects and bloated bureaucracy. Your hard-earned money should serve your family, not a councillor’s ideological agenda.
• Put Frontline Services First: In a First World nation, the basics are non-negotiable. We will prioritise filling potholes, reliable bin collections, and community safety. If the basics aren't working, the council isn't working.
• Keep Council Tax Under Control: With the cost-of-living crisis biting, we must protect households. Reform-run councils are already proving we can keep tax rises lower than any other party.
• Help the High Street: We will cut parking charges to increase footfall and work with the police to fight shoplifting and anti-social behaviour. We need to make our town centres safe, moral environments for families once again.
• Close the Immigrant Hotels: It is a scandal that your tax pounds house thousands of illegal immigrants in local hotels while our own people struggle. This is a matter of fairness and national stewardship.
• Defend Local Democracy: You deserve a voice. When the establishment tried to cancel elections, Reform UK took them to court and won. We believe in the power of the voter.
  I know what it looks like when a society begins to unravel. I’ve lived it. I came here to escape the decline, only to find it following me. But I am reminded of the words in 2 Chronicles 7:14.
  “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
  It is time to heal our land. We can demand better. We can vote for a party that values common sense, national pride, and the Christian values that built our civilisation. On election day, vote to keep this country "First World."
