I’m proud to be standing for election on 7th May.

Community is so important to me. I love to get to know my neighbours and hear what matters to them, and I love to support the local businesses in Hailsham, especially since we are seeing so many of them struggling and having to close down. I have worked for a number of charities including managing a local charity within East Sussex supporting the community. I have also volunteered for several local organisations such as the Salvation Army and love to support Foodbank.

I have a great deal of personal experience in the kinds of struggles many of us face. I have lived with chronic kidney disease for 25 years, and have seen the decline in the ability for the NHS to cope leading to longer waiting times for appointments and less services available. I have experienced homelessness after a no fault eviction, having to fight hard to get myself and my family housing security. We are raising our child with disability, navigating obstacles within the education system and SEND.

I have had to advocate for myself and my family in so many areas and as a result I am passionate about advocating for others going through these or other struggles. I have deep personal insight into the way our systems work and would love to use this knowledge for the benefit of others in Hailsham Market. I continue to fight – along with the whole Green Party – for more accessible and better funded services and a fairer, cleaner society.
