Hi there, I'm Alex Greenwood, standing to be your local councillor for Clacton North on a simple message: we deserve better than potholes, dying high-streets, and dirty roads.

Throughout my whole life living in Tendring, I've loved Clacton. I've made some of my best childhood memories here. There was something in the air back then, I remember, a kind of lively excitement. But it's dying. Potholes everywhere, shops closing down, entire streets neglected and forgotten. That life I used to know about our beautiful town - it's just not there anymore. Our Tory-led council meanwhile is one of the most indebted in the country.
We need a change. Real, hopeful change.
That's where I come in. As a Young Essex Assembly representative for Tendring and the first Head Boy of TTC in years, I've worked hard to make my school and the wider community a safer, cleaner, and more active place. My heart bleeds for those whose issues I could not solve. This persuaded me to stand as your councillor.

Meanwhile, the Tories and Labour have failed. Reform, which continues to adopt failed Tories, denies making their own promises, and says they wish they "hadn't bothered" to run a Reform-led council now on the edge of bankruptcy, aren't change; they're the same-old same-old. We are better than this. We can make Tendring better. This is my vision.

Firstly, it's time to end the Pothole Pandemic. Especially as a learner driver, potholes have been my Enemy Number One, being so abundant and also the most common cause of vehicle damage in the country. Secondly. I will help protect our shops and businesses from disaster, both financial and environmental, getting our streets lively again. Thirdly, I will also continue to help clean up our streets left to gather uncollected litter and rubbish.

We've been denied hope for years. But hope is here. The Greens are no wasted vote - support has exploded locally and nationally. Come join us, and choose hope, not division.
