Statement to voters
I'm standing as your Labour candidate in Pan & Barton.
Full statement
I'm a local resident, and passionate about driving the positive change agenda of our new Labour government in our local area.
After 14 years of austerity, there is a big mess to fix and we are determined to deliver.
Alongside our three key policies on health and social care, housing, and transport, Island Labour will create more SEND places in mainstream schools using the Island's high-needs capital funding, and ensure primary schools receive a fair share of resources so every child gets the support they need close to home.
We will also tackle barriers to opportunity by investing in youth facilities, backing the island's Local Skills Improvement Plan, and helping young people who are not in education, employment or training into secure, well-paid work.
We will protect our unique environment by backing local renewable energy projects, helping Islanders access grants to cut energy bills, and pushing Southern Water and
regulators to clean up our rivers and coasts while holding the council to its climate commitments.
