Statement to voters

I’m proud to stand as your Labour candidate for Ashton Waterloo Ward.

Full statement

Having lived in Ashton-under-Lyne for over 20 years, I understand our community ,its strengths, its challenges, and its potential. Through my work with community organisations, I’ve helped residents access support, create opportunities, and strengthen local connections. I’ve seen firsthand that strong communities are built on fairness, responsibility, and people who care enough to take action.

I am standing in the May 2026 election because I want to make a real difference. I will listen to residents, understand local concerns, and work hard to ensure residents of Waterloo Ward feels supported, heard, and valued.

My Priorities

Safer, Cleaner and Greener Waterloo
I will work with residents, the council, and local partners to tackle litter, improve street cleaning, and ensure our neighbourhood is safe, tidy, and welcoming for all.

Standing Up for Older Residents
I will champion the needs of older residents, making sure their voices are heard and they receive the support and respect they deserve.

Supporting Young People
I will work with schools, youth groups, and community organisations to create more opportunities for young people and help them reach their full potential.

Bringing Our Community Together
I will support local groups and community activities that bring people together, building a stronger, more connected neighbourhood.
