Statement to voters
John has lived 18 years in Islington since 2008, and is an active contributor to the Tenants and Residents Association on the multicultural estate where he has lived since 2009.

He joined the Green Party in 2023, and was elected Treasurer of the Islington Green Party in September 2025.
John said,”I joined the Green party in frustration at the stance of the major parties over many issues, particularly Gaza, and fully support the strong stance taken by party leadership and conference on the need for all countries, even our allies, to uphold international law. In my work as a specialist in conflict casualty recording, I see the damage being done by Britain’s support of illegal US and Israel actions in the Middle East, actions which have direct consequences for the people living and working in the streets of Islington.”
John would bring to the council his concern for ethical divestment and making Islington a thriving community safe and welcoming for all.
