I love this part of London because it is full of different people and has a long history of residents standing up for what is fair. I speak five languages—including Farsi—which helps me listen to and talk with all kinds of neighbours in our community.
I’ve always wanted my work to be about helping others. I have a masters degree in social and political science and I have spent my career working within the charity sector. For the last ten years, I’ve worked for charities that support people with mental health issues. This job has shown me that when people go through a hard time, the government often isn't there to catch them—even though we all pay our taxes to make sure those services exist.
If you vote for me in Mayfield, I will work on three main things:
• More Help for Everyone: Redbridge is like a ‘charity desert.’ Compared to
other parts of London, we don't have enough local groups to help people with things like mental health. I want to change that so no one has to struggle alone.
• Cleaner Air: Mayfield is near some of the busiest, smoggiest roads in London. This isn't healthy for our lungs, especially for children. I will fight for cleaner air and safer streets for everyone.
• Cleaning Up Our Streets: I’m tired of seeing litter and dirty pavements. We pay our taxes for clean streets, and I want to make sure that money is actually spent on making Mayfield look cared for.
I’m not a professional politician. I’m a charity worker and a neighbour who believes we deserve better. On Thursday, May 7th, a vote for me is a vote for a fairer, cleaner, and more helpful Mayfield.
