Statement to voters
Hello, I’m Warren Whyte.
Full statement
I live and work in the heart of Freshwater with my wife and
very demanding tortoise.
You can find me in the Flaneur car book and model shop on Avenue Road, where I also
undertake my architecture work. I specialise in ecclesiastical projects and I am the architect for a number of churches and halls in the Diocese of Portsmouth area, including here on the island. I became a Freshwater Parish Councillor at the start of 2024 as I wanted to help the parish be more proactive and innovative in solving local issues, and improve engagement with local residents and community groups.
I am very keen to ensure residents get better value for money from the council tax, and this has helped lower the parish precept in 2025. I am an active supporter of Freshwater Library and chair the library committee which helps to ensure that the library and its wonderful volunteers can continue to provide such a welcoming and useful local service. With your support, I’ll be a strong voice for Freshwater at County Hall.
