I’m Simon O’Rourke, your local Liberal Democrat candidate for Clitheroe in the upcoming Lancashire County Council elections. I live in Clitheroe, I serve our community on Ribble Valley Borough Council as well as Clitheroe Town Council, and I’m passionate about delivering real change for our town and the people who call it home.

Why I’m Standing

Clitheroe deserves a strong, independent voice at County Hall—someone who will stand up for our community, not party bosses.

Some of the things I am standing for are to:

• To Fix Our Roads and Pavements
Potholes, poor surfaces and inadequate maintenance are a daily frustration. I will push for urgent investment in road repairs and safer walking routes.

• To Protect Our Local Services
From children’s centres to social care, vital services are under pressure. I’ll fight cuts and work to ensure funding goes where it’s needed most.

• To Get More Youth Workers
For years the Lib Dems have been calling for more support for young people in Lancashire. Youth
workers can help young people to develop
themselves, learn social skills and take positive steps to enhance their lives.

• To Improve Public Transport
Our buses are infrequent, unreliable, and often expensive. I’ll work to secure better routes, especially for young people.
