Karen was born and bred in Newcastle, and lives locally with her family.

She has served as a councillor since 2014 and has led the council since October 2024. If re-elected she will continue to work hard on your behalf, and will always take time to listen to you and act on what you tell her matters most. Before becoming a councillor Karen worked across several roles including in the social housing sector, with communities and in regeneration. These experiences helped shape her priorities, which include high-quality safe and secure homes, maintaining clean and welcoming neighbourhoods, keeping our communities safe, supporting families and giving every child the best possible start in life.
