I was born in North Shields, and lived here most of my life, and it’s true, I love North Shields!

We’ve got such an amazing heritage, a thriving creative and cultural scene, and some people doing incredible things.

But not everyone has the same experience, and within North Shields, we have growing inequality, and some serious issues with the cost-of-living, poor housing, poverty, anti-social behaviour and more.

The Town centre may have had some attention but it’s still not firing on all cylinders. There is a lot more than can be done.

I have been a councillor before (I was elected between 2019 – 2023) and I know what it takes.

I have already been working to improve North Shields through my job and volunteering, and I am committed to work hard all year to get things done. And, importantly, unlike some of the other candidates, I have a clear plan what I want to do for North Shields.

I have detailed some of my main priorities in my election leaflet which includes:

• A cleaner, greener North Shields
• Making local infrastructure work again
• Arts and culture everywhere for everyone
• A fairer, more equal North Shields
• Revitalising the Town Centre
• Better democracy and more communication

The people of North Shields deserve a independent voice after decades of Labour councillors representing the area, and would promise to be a hard-working, community minded councillor who listens to local voices and acts on their concerns rather than taking the party line.
