Statement to voters
Meet Christian Stevens
Christian is standing to be your Eastern Surrey Conservatives Councillor for Horley West, Salfords & Sidlow.
Full statement
He has ten years of experience serving Horley as a Borough Councillor for Horley Central and South, from 2014 to 2024. He is proud to have served the town where he grew up, went to school, worked and still lives in now. He spent the first six months of his life in Court Lodge, in the now demolished Rutherwick Tower. His mother grew up on the estate and attended the former Court Lodge Comprehensive. So Christian's roots in Horley and passion for our community run deep. You can find a track record of Christian's service by visiting his old Councillor Facebook page at Former Cllr Christian Stevens.
Working with Michael Blacker, Christian's priorities for Horley West, Salfords & Sidlow include making sure Westvale Park has the facilities it needs to thrive. This includes securing shops, building a local pub to foster a greater sense of community and also supporting the new community centre. He also supports a new secondary school for Horley, which the town so badly needs. This is agreed by all Horley Conservative candidates.
He is also keen to once again work with fellow Horley Conservatives councillors and Surrey Police & Crime Commissioner Lisa Townsend PCC to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
When he was previously a Borough Cllr, he was a prominent member of the Planning Committee for many years and supported the opening of the new Lidl on Brighton Road.
He looks forward to working hard on your behalf and earning your trust to allow him to serve our communities once again.
