Meet Michael Blacker
Michael is standing to be your East Surrey Councillor for Horley West, Salfords & Sidlow.

He runs a consulting engineering business locally, so understands the pressures facing local businesses.
He's an highly experienced Borough Councillor, who has served the borough of Reigate & Banstead since 1979 (with some breaks in between terms). He has served as a Town Councillor for Horley South since 2023. He's passionate about public service and is a champion for Horley West, Salfords & Sidlow.
Working with Christian Stevens, his priorities include bringing his planning expertise to ensure any development in our communities has the appropriate infrastructure before it's built. He's supportive of getting more amenities for Westvale Park including shops and a new community centre. Along with his other Conservative colleagues across Horley, he also supports a new, second secondary school for the town.
He also cares passionately about making sure Horley West, Salfords & Sidlow has a strong voice at the new East Surrey Council. He and Christian will make sure that all of our communities are represented well.
