Statement to voters

Dear Neighbours,

I am proud to put myself forward for re-election at this critical time in local government to continue to deliver and be a strong voice for Hemingford Grey, Houghton & Wyton and Wyton on the Hill.

Full statement

Born in Huntingdon I grew up in St Ives attending Eastfield Primary School, Westfield Junior School, and the Ivo. As a child, I played football for St Ives Rangers and rugby for St Ives. After studying Business at Plymouth Polytechnic, I built a career in marketing, working in London, the Thames Valley, and across Europe before returning to settle in Houghton & Wyton in 2009.

My connection to this area runs deep. My parents and sister’s family still live in St Ives, and I have extended family in the county, I have a strong love for and commitment to our community.

I have been a Parish Councillor since 2016 and a District Councillor since 2018. I am an active member of our local Timebank, a shareholder in the community shop, and a founding member of the local flood group. These roles have strengthened my understanding of our community’s needs and my resolve to improve it for all residents.

I am asking for your support to continue the strong record of delviery for residents at distric level well trying to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy, and ensuring your hard earned tax money delivers value where it matters most.

I will also stand firm against overdevelopment, push for better public transport, and protect our unique environment. This is my home too, and I am committed to making sure your voice is heard and acted upon.

If you have concerns or ideas, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we can build a brighter, stronger future for our community.

Yours David
