Statement to voters
Amanda was a Town Councillor in Wadebridge for 11 years from 2011 to 2022 and the Mayor of Wadebridge from 2021 to 2022.
Full statement
A real community champion, she spearheaded the devolution of the library, led on a new skate park project for local youth, and secured over £150,000 of funding for the Chy Ryn Parc housing development. She also proposed the motion to ban glyphosates and other harmful chemicals on Town Council land , and Wadebridge became one of the first pesticide free towns in Cornwall.
Amanda also campaigned to keep Wadebridge Sports Centre open when it was threatened with closure in 2021, and created a community group that successfully bid for the centre to pass into community ownership.
