Statement to voters

Dear resident.

Full statement

I am Glyn Lane and I’m standing as your Conservative Candidate for
Chulmleigh and Landkey in the forthcoming Devon County Council
elections on the Thursday 1st May and I would like to ask for your support.
At present, I am a District Councillor supporting the parishes of Bishop’s
Tawton, Gunn, Landkey and Swimbridge. I have been both a Parish
Councillor and a District Councillor for the past 14 years. As a local family
man living and working in and around Landkey all my life I have great
local knowledge so am well placed to understand the concerns of our
local community. I have a very good understanding of both current and
community issues.
I’m proud to have supported many local causes through community grants.
I’ve also worked closely with the current County and Parish Councillors to
help provide the new roundabout, footbridge and cycleway at the Landkey
junction, as part of the A361 road improvements.
As a County Councillor I would continue to support projects important
to local residents including; traffic calming measures in Atherington,
Umberleigh, Landkey and Swimbridge; provision of a pedestrian crossing
across the A377 at Bishops Tawton; trains stopping at King’s Nympton and
the removal of the bus gate on the Old Torrington Road in Barnstaple.
My priorities would also include continuing to support safer, well maintained
roads, supporting local causes with local funding, protecting
rural services and working with the Parish Councils for the benefit of our
area, together with issues that are important to you.
I am available and approachable and I do hope you will consider lending
me your support on Thursday 1st May.
I would like to thank you for taking time to read this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Glyn Lane
