Statement to voters

I am Frank Stennett, a local businessman and independent councillor already standing up for the interests of Bury St Edmunds.

Full statement

I have a record of getting results on issues that matter, I have worked with national and local government.

Being independent gives the freedom to act without the shackles of a national political party in the best interests of my residents.

Council Tax should be used prudently and efficiently while being directed where it’s most needed, my priorities are:

Education, Culture, Highways, Economic development, (ECHE)

Improving early childhood education, for better life outcomes. If elected, I pledge funds for every school PTA in the division.

Preserve our culture, heritage, leisure, and arts. In particular, the Theatre Royal in Bury St Edmunds.

An efficient highway network, modern public transport, improved bus and train efficiency, reliability, and passenger experience. repaired roads, and footpaths. restore street-lighting making people feel safer at night.

Increase business growth & investment in our town and to address Suffolk County Council’s predicted £358 million shortfall by 2027.

I champion the residents of St Olaves, especially its children. I support the Howard Community Academy, and have helped to provide, School education trips, a pantomime trip, football equipment, kit, and extra school lessons.

The Howard Estate Green Hearts do fantastic work, I am proud to help them, in the past I have provided food for their community projects, Christmas trees and lights for the precinct.

The New Bury community centre is an excellent facility and provides invaluable community activities which I support.

I have a record of getting results as a Councillor on issues that matter in the community such as a new play area, improved street lighting and increased road safety measures.

I am currently fighting for a bus service for our town that will provide a bus service for Marham Park while Safeguarding the M77 bus service on the Westley Estate and extending the existing provision from the Priors and Mildenhall Estates to the town centre.

I seek election to Suffolk County Council so that I can deliver these priorities to more residents of our wonderful town.
