My Focus
- I'm here for our community first and always. My record of action speaks of my commitment to you.
- We need a local GP surgery, which will provide the services and facilities that we need.
- The needs of local residents must be at the heart of the Winklebury Regeneration Project.
- Housing associations must focus first and foremost on the needs of their tenants.
- The facilities on Manydown must benefit all of the residents in our ward.
- We must work with the Manydown Development team to minimise disruption to local residents due to construction work.
My local experience
I have lived in the ward since 2005. I have a background in nursing and management consultancy. I help to run The Barn Nursery pre-school in Wootton St Lawrence.I am a former Borough Councillor for Winklebury and Manydown; Governor of Winklebury Federation Schools and former Governor of Ashwood Academy; Governor of Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust; member of the Hampshire NHS Community Engagement Group; member of the Patient Participation Group of Watership Down Health; former member of the Winklebury Legends Committee; and member of the Parochial Church Council for Oakley with Wootton. I ran the annual Basingstoke Foodbank Christmas Hamper Project for 7 years.
As a Borough Councillor, I worked hard to support residents with issues and concerns, and spoke frequently in meetings at the council, representing local opinion. I also established and led the Winklebury Regeneration Review Panel, which campaigned on behalf of Winklebury residents for changes to Vivid's plans.
I believe strongly in working closely with all borough councillors, regardless of their political affiliation, in order to achieve the best for our ward and borough. Please vote for me to ensure your voice is heard and acted on in the Borough Council. Thank you for your support.
