About Sue, A Brackley person who has raised her family in the town alongside her husband, she understands the local area and its needs, through personal experience.

For the last 9 years Sue has been a Brackley Town Councillor committed to making a positive change for Brackley, whilst continuing to protect the beautiful Market Town in which we live. She has been an active member of the Brackley Town Council and was Town Mayor in 2023 - 2024.

She has been a West Northamptonshire Councillor for the last four years, being on both People Overview Scrutiny Committee, Post Overview Scrutiny Committee and South Northants Planning Committee. Sue has taken active roles on the Mental Health Scrutiny Panel and The Caring Strategy as part of her Scrutiny Role.

As a member of the Local Area Partnership for Rural South, Sue has been keen to highlight the importance of Brackley and its community groups that she works with and those that do so much in our town. Priorities of the LAP have been Loneliness, Friendship, Youth Work of South Northants Youth Engagement Strategy, alongside the Men in Sheds Charity, Dementia, Chatty Café, Mental Health and Transport for our Community.

Sue's first concern on becoming a West Northants Councillor four years ago was how to better connect Brackley with West Northamptonshire services. She worked with customer services and introduced a pilot, and subsequent long term, scheme which enables residents to visit Brackley and other libraries and speak first hand with WNC, Citizens Advice, housing, debt advice and social care,

Sue is a proud founding member and trustee of a charity that provides youth worker's for the benefit of Brackley's young people, providing trained youth workers twice a week in two different aged sessions as well as a Youth Council and Play and Activity Day every year, Summer and half term art and play sessions for young people.

A Trustee of 5th Brackley Scout Group, Sue, a previous Beaver Leader herself, provides the support required to help leaders with knowledge of the role..

A Council Trustee representative for the Feoffee Charity in Brackley from 2019 - 2023, this is a role dear to her heart.

Sue served a one year term, whilst Mayor, as a Trustee of Brackley Community Hospital Trust.
