Statement to voters

Hi All, i just wanted to introduce myself.

Full statement

I have just been on 'The Belmont'
delivering my election address for the local elections on the 7th May.

I really was a local lad.
My family home was a mid terrace 2 bed house in Belmont Road.

I went to Grays comprehensive school.

My friends & i used to hang out over Parker Road park. Playing 'footie' most of the time...or runouts down the pit that has been transformed into Badgers Dene.

We used to hang around down Church path, by the Wharf.
At the opposite end is St Peter's & St Paul's Church where my parents married.

We used to go to Blockbusters in Grays High Street or the 'offie' along London Rd by Castle Rd & go round each other's houses to watch whatever video we rented out.

My local was The Wharf pub.
Had some really good times down there.
Oh the memories! 🙄 🙃 😊

Had friends down Seabrooke Rise, would go round their homes after school sometimes.

I am Grays through & through.
Grays is my home.
My family were Grays through & through too.
Just a normal guy (ok...I have an interest in politics (& the Solar System)) so normal...ish.

I am a wood machinist by trade. I'm at my happiest when using my hands & not sitting behind a desk.

Anyway, i would just like to say i would be very proud to represent the area/ward of Grays Riverside where my heart lies & where I know best.

Thanks
Mark
