Simon Smith's policies
Statement to voters
As a Castle resident for 23 years, with children educated at Mayfield and Chesterton, I understand our community and am proud to serve you as your Labour City Councillor.
Full statement
On 7th May, I am seeking your support for re-election to continue that work.
Over the past five years, I have worked full time as your Councillor to improve local services, strengthen community safety and promote tolerance across our diverse neighbourhoods. I am committed to restoring our natural environment, protecting chalk streams, achieving sewage-free rivers, and tackling climate change. I have decades of experience in local government, planning and development. Over the last three years as Cabinet Member for Finance and Resources I have turned a forecast deficit into a balanced budget.
